Tioga & George
2007 Trip Plan
December, 2007:
Our November plan was to be in Mexico by the beginning of December. Satellite
changeover from 127 West to 117 West became a challenge, because we ran out of
the footprint of 127 West earlier than we planned! This caused us to head northeast
for several days to the Anza-Borrego State Park in order to be able to go online.
After the Thanksgiving holiday, we were able to make the satellite change.
We will begin December, 2007, in San Diego County shopping for batteries for our
solar electric battery bank. We also want to shop and see if there are any real good buys for
laptop computers.
After shopping, we will be heading east in order to enter mainland Mexico at Nogales
[near Tucson, Arizona]. We will then head south toward the City of Guaymas.
Miles traveled: 1,394
November, 2007:
MsTioga and The Team will be traveling south along the California coast. We intend
to visit with relatives and friends along the way.
We are headed for the mainland of Mexico. Our very first time RVing on the mainlaind!
Miles traveled: 868
October, 2007:
As you may know, we on the TiogaRV Team do not plan exactly where we will go, and what
we will do. The month of October finds us in a time filled with possibilities!
We could
go to Yosemite. Or to Southern California to visit with friends and family. Wow!
Miles traveled: 874
September, 2007:
We will be traveling along the Oregon Trail in the State of Oregon. When we reach the
Pacific Coast, we will head south along the gorgeous Ocean.
Then comes California and the never to be missed Redwood Forests!
Miles traveled: 1,314
August, 2007:
We had intended to head toward the Tetons. However, at Lander, Wyoming it became clear
that MsTioga and The Team are very interested in journeying along the Old Oregon Trail.
So from Lander, Wyoming, we will head southwest toward Fort Bridger. Then continue
on northwest into
Idaho, following roads that stay as close to the Old Oregon Trail as possible.
Miles traveled: 1,329
July, 2007:
We are now in the City of Cheyenne, Wyoming. From here we will be heading westerly thru
the State of Wyoming. We have not searched for adventure in the southern part of
Wyoming.
As you may know, we on the TiogaRV Team do not like to plan our journey too closely.
That kind of planning takes the spontaneity out of our travels. We like to "feel"
our way along.
Note: About the middle of July our Dometic refrigerator stopped cooling properly.
Repairs took almost two weeks to complete, and during that time we camped around the
City of Casper, Wyoming.
Miles traveled: 1,122
June, 2007:
Heading east across the State of Utah visiting National Parks and Monuments along
the way.
When we reach the City of Moab, Utah, we will head into Colorado. This will be
the first time that MsTioga and The Team ever searched for adventure in the State
of Colorado!
Miles traveled: 1,348
May, 2007:
During the first two weeks of May, we will driving to Utah. My son Joe will be flying
into St. George, Utah on the 17th of May. From the airport, we will
head out to Zion National Park to begin our one week tour of the wonders of Utah.
Perhaps during this week, we will be able to see Zion, Bryce Canyon and maybe even
Capitol Reef National Parks.
Miles traveled: 1,028
April, 2007:
We will be heading north to the USA during the first half of April. We have a wedding
to attend! Nephew
Steve Siegel is getting married!!
After the wedding, we will be heading east toward the State of Utah. We have made plans
to Camp with my son Joe for a couple of weeks in Utah. Joe will be flying out from California,
and we will pick him up. Joe will be living inside MsTioga during this trip.
Miles traveled: 1,355
March, 2007:
It has taken a LOT longer to get fiberglassed than anticipated. At the beginning
of March, MsTioga was just about finished at Jose's Fiberglass Shop. The next thing
for MsTioga to do is get her paint job.
The plan was to do this paint job at Gilberto's
"El Chorro", a carroceria [body shop]. However, it turned out that Gilberto did not have
the ability to tackle a big job like MsTioga. So, we are using Salvadore to do the paint
preparation and painting. Salvadore works for Jose the Fiberglass guy, and has six years
experience preparing and painting cars and trucks.
Our friend Julian Nava [the fisherman] lives about 30 miles west of Ciudad Constitución
in the Pueblo [small town] of San Carlos. After the paint job, we will spend a few
days visiting with Julian and his family.
We had planned to to continue traveling south toward our friend Gumaro Gonzalez's "Rancho Boca del Salado,
about 80 miles northeast of San Jose del Cabo. However, with the fiberglass and painting job taking
much longer than anticipated, this trip will not happen this year.
Miles traveled: 272
February, 2007:
Heading south to visit with our friends Julian Nava the fisherman and Gumaro Gonzalez
the rancher.
Julian lives in the City of San Carlos on the Pacific Coast. Gumaro owns a rancho
on the coast of the Sea of Cortez, close to San Jose del Cabo.
On the way south, we plan to stop in Ciudad Constitución, a town known for its many
auto repair shops. MsTioga wants to get a fiberglass job in this town.
Miles traveled: 368
January, 2007:
We will take a side trip to the Volcano of the Three Virgins in order to explore
and see the geothermal power plant located there.
Miles traveled: 118
