Reviewing our Part #2 story.
While setting up my new Message Board, among the many options found is:
"Custom Domain Name" New!

Instructions were given. All I needed to do was to create a new sub-domain and setup that sub-domain to be configured correctly.

Hiring the Message Board to do a Custom Domain.
I tried to follow those instructions. Creating a new sub-domain was pretty easy. However, then the new sub-domain needed to be configured. I found that I just did not get the idea of what to do to configure properly!

However, the Message Board offered a service. For $29.95, they would setup a new sub-domain for me and configure it properly. Wow! I took them up on this deal and figured that it was a $29.95 education course.

If the Message Board would be able to setup a Custom Domain for my account with them, then copying what they did and creating a new sub-domain for my Blogger account should be a snap! And it was!

But there was an obstacle. A "Class C" item was needed in the new sub-domain for Blogger. What could it be?

In order to find out, I went back into my Blogger account's Settings Section where the Custom Domain option for Blogger is located. There I found instructions for setting up a Custom Domain! I was sooooo surprised to find these instructions.

Why had I not seen these instructions before today? These instructions must be new. Or how could I have missed them?

Sub-domain instructions for several ISPs.
Click on the "setup instructions" link, and you will get a BIG surprise! Specific instructions describing exactly how to configure your new sub-domain so that you may publish using Blogger's Custom Domain routine!

The most important item shown in these instructions, is the Class-C description pointing to to the Google site properly.

I am unable to explain the Alexa 3-month report trend. It appears that more readers tune in to my other webpages, i.e.; MsTioga Magazine stories. But there is no denying this Alexa 3-month trend report!

Using FTP.
During this period, I tried many times to use Blogger's FTP routine and got mixed results. After New Blogger was rolled out, FTP was evolving. Blogger reported problems with FTP that they were trying to fix. Several months after New Blogger rolled out, Blogger announced that their FTP routine was working properly and I tried using FTP again.

However, when I published on FTP, the only Tioga-George Blog page that could seen by readers was today's post. When readers tried to view past Tioga-George Blog posts, only today's post came up!

Blogger rolls out Custom Domain.
For several months after New Blogger rolled out, Custom Domain was not available. When Blogger came out with their new Custom Domain routine, I tried over and over again to publish on a Custom Domain. However, only my Home Page would come up. Very peculiar!

I assumed that the problem might be with my Blogger template which does not conform to the New Blogger standards. But I found out only recently, that this assumption wasn't correct!

Blogger's Custom Domain routine did work. Only thing was, I did not know how to set up Custom Domain properly.

My new Message Board.
During March, 2008, I stumbled upon a website offering a hosted Message Board service. This service looked really neat, and I decided to give it a try.

While setting up this Message Board, I came upon a link announcing:
"Custom Domain Name" New!

Instructions were given detailing how to setup a custom domain! I was stunned! If this Message Board service could do a Custom Domain, why couldn't I do it with my Tioga-George Blog?

Blogger now has the instructions!
Tuning into Blogger's settings, led me to find the pages describing how to properly setup a Custom Domain. Also, there were instructions how to setup a CName

Here are the links to these two pages:
How do I use a Custom Domain on my Blog?

How do I create a CName record for my Blog?

Following these instructions:
I had some trouble following these instructions. Had to mess with the CName a few times, before I got it right.

Critical is to understand that the CName must associate with or better stated "include" the text:
ghs.google.com

Good luck!
