Saturday, February 11, 2006: 6AM - Waking up in Ciudad Constitucion. Our Nite Camp in Ciudad Constitucion was very tranquil. No problems with traffic noise, easy to sleep. This morning, the only sounds are the many birds in the trees next to MsTioga.
It is pretty cold this morning, under 50°F, so we cranked up both MsTioga's furnace and Mr. Wave6. You understand, that we on The Team are California weather wimps. We are not used to cold weather!

8AM - Long morning walk. We ate soooooo much last nite. Most of the things that we bought at Panaderia Marlene's are gone. We took a very long walk this morning to work off the food.
This is a pretty nice neighborhood. Some of the streets are still dirt, but that is very common in Mexico. Our walk took us past some really nice homes. Take a peek at the patios that Mr. Mavica captured on our walk, OK?

11AM - Puerto de San Carlos. We have made a Camp in the backyard of Javier, our friend the fisherman. The Port of San Carlos is only a short distance away.
We will come back and tell you more about what has been going on here in the past year, after we talk to Javier for awhile, OK?
1PM - Talking with Javier. Javier came over to talk with me inside MsTioga. He told me of the plans that he has made to prepare a small park for tourists with RVs to stay on his property. This morning when I arrived at Javier's home, his son Claudio and grandson Hugo were working on the park to clear brush and clean up.
Javier wants to start small. There are always RVs in the area around the port looking for a safe place to camp. Javier's park will have water and electricity hookup. Sounds like a good idea to me.

4PM - Communications problems with Network Operations Center. All of our signals go thru the DirecWay Network Operations Center in Maryland. Mr. Datastorm has not able to talk to NOC very well this afternoon. In case we are not posting for awhile, you will know the reason why.
9PM - Problems with communication continue. I have tried several times since 4PM to get online, with very poor results. Perhaps my location is at the edge of the SatMex5 footprint? Or, it could be a problem with NOC. I am sooooo sorry for this problem!
Although my transmissions are very poor, I am able to post at this time. However my posts go up to you a little slowly now.
Caldo This afternoon, Hugo walked up to MsTioga carrying some food. He gave me a bowl of caldo. Have you ever eaten caldo? I have never heard of it before. This caldo is a fish soup, with vegatables in a nice broth. Very delicious. My bowl of caldo was large, and enough for lunch and supper!
