12:30AM - Lightning and thunder.
We were awakened to the sound of loud thunder. Looking out into the nite we saw lightning very close. Quickly Mr. Datastorm's antenna was stowed to avoid attracting lightning.

Watching the lightning form outside is very scary. Most of the lightning was from cloud to cloud, but sometimes the lightning struck the ground. A few ground strikes were pretty close, but then the storm drifted away. The lightning continured, but as the storm got pretty distant we could not hear the thunder anymore.

5AM - Left our Nite Camp.
Since there were two homes about a mile away, we did not want to remain in our Camp. Having an unknown RV camping out here in farm country may be disturb our neighbors. So, we headed north. We came to a place where we could make a Day Camp alongside the highway. Everybody on The Team went back to sleep. We are all sleepy because of watching the lightning storm early this morning.

While we were driving to this Camp, rain was coming down. It was just before dawn, and a bright Sun was coming up over the Crazy Mountains east of us. Little Mavicito spotted a lovely rainbow, and asked MsTioga to stop so that he could take a rainbow pic. The weathered building with the rainbow is an old wood barn. We have always had a partial place in our heart for old barns.

11AM - George and Ms. GQ.
You know that our mission is to get you to try the vagabonding life in your RV (Our mission statement may be found at the bottom of this blog page). Being a vagabond is a wonderful thing. Of course it is easy to have a great time when wandering thru fantastic places in Utah and Wyoming as we have been over the past two months.

However, just stopping by the side of the road and making a Camp is wonderful too! Take this morning for example. George and MsGQ have been online reading our email and the news. When we look out of MsTioga's window from our computer workstation, we see a lovely field of green wheat.

What do you think? Would you love to be a vagabond living in your own RV home?

1:30AM - Helena National Forest.
We headed west on Hwy 12 and entered the Helena National Forest where we found the Skidway Forest Campground. MsTioga climbed up the somewhat steep road. All of the campsites are under trees, so we made our Camp in the open just off the Skidway X-country ski trail. We can only imagine what this place looks like in the winter.

As you may see, it is a somewhat dark and cloudy day. We are going to stay out in the open for Mr. Sunny to hopefully fully charge his battery bank. In the evening, we may move to a site with a fire ring in the trees. We want to build a campfire and maybe roast a hot dog.

Three story concrete building.
On the way to Skidway where we are now camped, Little Mavicito spotted something unusual out here in the Montana forest. A three story concrete building that looks like somebody's home. In an area where nearly everything is a wood building, this is something don't you think?

7PM - To build a fire.
MsTioga went looking for a campsite where we could build a fire and roast a hotdog. As we were looking, the rain started again. A little wind came up and it felt really cold. Everybody decided that building a fire was not as important as being warm and dry. So, we returned to our Camp up the hill. Mr. Datastorm was happy we went back because we are in the open here. He is able to find his space station uplink easily without of looking thru a bunch of trees.

10:30AM - Happy to be warm and dry.
We on The Team will never get over the feeling of being warm and dry while just outside it is so rainy and cold. All evening the rain fell, sometimes hard or like now, just drizzly. The temperature outside is 42°F. But inside, Mr. Wave6 is holding at 70°F. We love evenings like this!
